I do not know why I just did
that, I never do that in practice, was a common phrase voiced by
students at the February 2010 DTI scenario based Force-on-Force training course
held at Safe Direction-owned True Way Tactics Training Facility.
Although uttered in dismay, the statement
demonstrates both the difficulty and the effectiveness of scenario
based Force-on-Force training. Each situation puts the student under real time stress
requiring a full skill set of abilities: verbalization skills, less-lethal
empty hand techniques, flashlight techniques, de-escalation techniques,
multiple target acquisition as well as post shooting reporting.
Some students may be uncomfortable by their first experience in putting it all together.
But for the student who has a solid base of gun handling skills, DTI veteran firearms
instructors, John and Vicki Farnam, provide an excellent, cost effective means
to expand on acquired skills and hone ability.
